Chesterbrook United Methodist Church was founded in 1906, and serves northeastern Fairfax and Arlington Counties in Virginia. The Sanctuary was built in 1920, and the education building originally constructed in 1959 has just been completely renovated.  A full-day Child Care Center was added, and opened its doors
in September.  Call 703-854-1691 to inquire about full day care for your child.

Our Mission     Church Profile

We are a congregation of the Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Our denomination’s Constitution declares that the Church is a “redeemed and redeeming fellowship in which the Word of God is preached by persons divinely called, and the Sacraments are duly administered according to Christ’s own appointment.” Chesterbrook United Methodist Church seeks to engage in this vision of ministry through the connection to the Virginia Conference and its own program of ministry in the immediate neighborhood.     CUMC was organized in 1906; the present sanctuary was built in 1920. At the time, the Chesterbrook, McLean, and Potomac River area of Fairfax County was largely rural, and so was the congregation. After World War II, this area became increasingly suburban, and Chesterbrook UMC grew to over 500 members by the 1960s. An education building was built in 1950-60. Today, with about 100 members, Chesterbrook Church is a blend of its rural origins and recent developments in modern ministry. It is at once a touch of traditional Americana and a center of ministry in a community of nationally- and internationally- focused government, military, educational and religious people, families and organizations.
